A Bus tour for a sandwich

Sunday i ate dinner with Simon (Chineese x roommate), he offered me to try some fried shrimps with chilli sause wich was quite good actually, but a bit hot. We got a new roommate late in the evening.
Monday Pio showed taught me some tricks with the snake handeling so that I can feel more confident in passing the snake on to the costumers.
Our first Friday where we actually left at 2:10pm which is the earliest I have ever got off work, guess will is always on time. The French roommate we got said that the new roommate don’t really say anything, I tried to say hi to him 3 times without a reply, so I guess that he is not a speaker. 8pm I booked a bus ticket to Ingham to try and see the Big waterfall before I go back home.
Tuesday I got up at 06am because I had to catch the bus by 07 and I had to meet the bus 20 minutes prior departure. I got to Ingham at 8:40, I tried to book an Uber, but no cars were running, so I went to an information center to try and see if there were another way to get there, since the waterfall was an hour from the city, they called a tourbus to confirm that their not running any tours at the moment, so they told me my only option was to try and get picked up by someone, because a taxi would be hundreds of dollars. Anyway I went through the wetlands (kind of a swamp/park) really beautifull, I saw a lot of birds and turtles. At around 10 o clock I went to a CafĂ© to get the best sandwich I have got so far, served in a huge basket and the sandwich filled out the whole basket. After my brunch I tried to get a lift to the waterfall by calling the city taxi’s And right the taxi driver spoke to me as I was crazy and then he told me the price and I got it, 200-250Au$ each way, 500$ (2500DKK) which is way more than expected, since when I planned it, I planned to take an uber and they are way cheper like 150 Au$(750DKK) return. So I decided to move my luckily flex bus ticket to earlier and went out to see what I could in the city. No waterfall, but a god experience and a really good sandwich. When I got back to Townsville I walked the strand and bought an icecream wich discount because I have been there before ;). Our new roommate had moved out and no one had spoken to him, that was a bit strange. At 06:40-07:00pm I went out on the Victorian bridge where I saw all the Bats flying to the magnetic island for the night.

Happy birthday!!!

Friday I bought a couple of cakes to start the tradition of bringing cake to work when you have birthday.
Saturday I woke up at 5:30am, because my family had mistaken the time difference by an hour, so I had to refuse the call and text. I had totally forgot it was my birthday and then I got a video message and a text “Open it now it is important” so I had to go and get my earplugs to figure out that it was a birthday song J. I went back to sleep for another 20 minutes or so and then got up. I packed an extra shirt and a nice pair of shorts, since we didn’t know if we were going to go straight to rays or home before. We had a really good morning run, Cake time, everybody loved the idea of bringing cake for your birthday and mostly they were just happy getting cake, who doesn’t love cake.
I got to go for reptile show, I handled a bearded lizard and held it out for kinds and helped them hold it so their parents could take pictures off them, it was so great and a really rewarding feeling, just happy showing this beautiful lizard to everyone. Since it was my birthday, I got to hold the Burmese python and have a picture with it, uhh so excited, that fella was heavy, but what a beauty. After lunch me and Jarla went to see the bird show before going to do turtle and dingo feeding. It was a rally good bird show, Pio was so funny. We slowly started the turtle feeding and we got people lined up, Pio and I caught a turtle and then the audience had to give them names. The kids loved it.. ready, set GO!!! Turtle Race off they go, it was so close but just at the water’s edge the smaller turtle got up front and we had a winner. We fed the turtles with the remaining fishskins and headed over to the dingoes. Because it was my first time I had to watch and observe so that I next time can help, Jarla had tried it before I helped her hide the meat under rocks in trees and inside bushes, then Pio could tell about the Dingoes while the audience could observe how good they are at climbing trees and finding every piece of meat. We did the bin Run and as we finished it was 04:45pm so we stayed in the park and got ready for Ray’s Surprise party, we were ment to meet at around 05pm, since ray could be back any time around 05:30pm we got up there and almost everybody was there and Ray’s house was so amazing. He had a lot of different fish, lizards and birds, he also had a lot of different tree carvings and because he is homosexual and has a friend that is a great wood carver he had a half meter long Peni* standing on his dining table. I helped Kates husband Daniel with the grilling, we got really good barbecue and just had a really good time. At around 20:30 will and the girls got a bit tired and Will asked me “if I was getting tired” I heard it as “if I was having a good time” and I was like, Yea for sure, then he was like do you want to go home and I just replied by reflex “NOOOOO!” But okay, we had had a good time and it was getting late. So we were back at the hostel around 9pm, as we pulled in Kenzo was parked right behind us him and Carolina was having pizza on the front seat in the car, we planned to meet up at 10:30pm, because Carolina had something she had to be done with before we go. So Alisson, Carolina, Nele and Kenzo wanted to go out to celebrate my birthday. We were just thinking a single beer at the Curtyard or something, but the Curtyard closed at 11pm So we ended up going to a club, we played a couple games of pool. We ended up first going home at 02:30am, because Me, Nele and Kenzo had to work the next day or actually later, we got 3 hours of sleep and went to Work J if you can go out drinking all night you can go to work all day.

Funny new “Crazy” Roomie

I was on koala feeding, where I got asked if I was coming to Ray’s surprise party on Saturday? I have not heard about it. Tabatha asked me if I wanted to come? Sure, that would be great just had to sort out how to get there, because ray’s house is in the sanctuary. Will could take us, he is not going to drink anyways. After lunch I was doing food prep and I was suppose to have my first lesson in dingo training. But out of nothing Dave needed a hand and asked if I would like to clean out the crocs while he is cleaning the venoms snakes. Time flies when cleaning out croc ponds, so Renee saw I was enjoying cleaning the crocs so she got Jarla to help her with the dingo show. What a good day.
In the evening I went out for a walk and grabbed a take away pizza on my way. When I got back we had a new roomie I had not met her yet, but just as I went out from washing my hands she came into the room yelling “Heeey Fabulous”, So all clear there, ahaha… she was from Slovenia and backpacking as a lot of others, she was really funny and open as a person. She was just crazy and like if anything smells funny, it is just my backpack, I think someone died in there (not actually) but she was like it smells so bad I didn’t have time to dry all my clothes, so now my backpack smells like a dead man. Not the dead man that was the funny part, you would have to be here to get it, she was just all straight, if you hear a loud bump in the night it is just me falling down from the bed (there is no railing on the bed), you guys can just turn around and continue sleeping and if I am dead in the morning just toss me out.
