The past couple of days i really got into, how things work in the park. I was on the koala team one day, and i did the background a couple of times aswell, some of the emus were chilling out in the sun :). I helped one of the rangers giving a bottle of milk to the young pademelon Tim, that was great. He came running into the rangers arms that have taken care of him for 5 months in her own home.
I also got to feed the Laughter bird, which was kind of funny too because he is so lazy, so i had to really aim for his mouth and throw it into his mouth. We finished with all the raking in the park this week and we are back to normal. One day i skipped lunch because one of the rangers asked me to come help being the gate boy :) Uhhh... excited. I had to stay in the door and make sure nobody came in while the rangers were feeding the biggest croc in the park 4.5 meters long named Bully :O. It was great and we got some really good jaw slams aswell, some times when the crocs are that big they can slam their jaws so powerfull that it sounds as loud as the sound of a gun shot!!! Later on the show when we went down to the smaller freshwater crocodiles the rangers asked me if i would like to try. Uhh really exciting, so ray (one of the rangers) took the gate guard and i tried to feed one of the freshwater crocodiles, it was AMAZING a pice of chicken on a stick and then make them jump and catch it after a couple of jumps. One of the german volunteers stoped in the park on sunday and a new local vetenary girl started, she is in the park for 10 days as a part of her education. It is great finally the german small talks in the kitchen have stoped and we are all speaking ENGLISH :).
Enjoy some Pictures.
