Stormflod in Townsville

Hi

I waitet one hour yesterday to get picked up and go to work, but i met one of the other volunteers who said we will be off work for two days or more because of the heavy rain.
I spoke to my contact in zoo kate, she said we might be able to start working on sunday.

Im alright! Im unfortunately staying inside another day. It has been raining constantly since i arrived and there are a lot of people strandet here at the hostel, because the busses all have been canceled until now. 2 of the 3 bridges to the other side of the river, where the zoo is, has been closed.

People are making sandbags and several roads are totally over flooded. The ferries to the local Island is Salling, but have canceled the latest tours. There is not realy weather to go any where. Now we just wait til the rain slow down or hopefully stop.

Hi, there
I arrived thursday at 11pm at the hostel, after a 33 hour trip with (luckely) every plane delayed by and hour, so i have not been spending a lot of time in the airports. it has been raining ever since i got here and it seems like its not going to clear up for the next couple of days. The time is 07:00am here and i am about to be picked Up for my first day of work. Speak to you soon.

Cheers,
